Roger TALLON (1929–2011), for LIP, Besançon (France). Mach 2000. Wristwatch with an asymmetrical case and a clipped steel back, signed. Ref. 1890112. No. 6001. Two-tone dial with hour markers, colored hands, and central seconds hand, signed. Case width (excluding crown): 30 mm. Quartz movement (not tested for sale, no warranty). Good condition, with slight signs of wear and minor scuffs on the case. Comes with a beautiful original openwork leather strap, signed. In the mid-1970s, amid sweeping social and industrial change, LIP decided to enlist designers from outside the watchmaking world to break with traditional conventions. Thus, Roger Tallon—already renowned for his work on trains (such as the TGV) and industrial design—conceived a resolutely futuristic and avant-garde line.
