Luminous baton hands and central seconds hand (needs reattaching). Crown with logo. Case width (excluding crown): 36 mm. Hand-wound movement (functioning at the time of sale, no warranty). 1970s. Good condition. Winding mechanism needs servicing. Slight signs of wear. Comes with its original gray plastic “Tropic”-style strap, bearing the logo.

In 1971, well before the famous Swatch appeared in 1983, Tissot revolutionized watchmaking with the launch of its Astrolon, also known as the IDEA 2001. It was the world’s first mechanical watch made entirely of plastic, including the movement.
