Lot Essay: John Estergreen founded the Estergreen Carriage Company, also known as the Estergreen Wagon Company, in Hastings, Minnesota. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1826, Estergreen trained as a carriage maker and built the first carriage for future King Karl XV before immigrating to the United States.
