ENZO SIGHIERI (1868–1940). "Face of a Young Man." Terracotta. Signed. Measurements: 42 x 37 x 22 cm. Enzo Sighieri was a prominent Italian sculptor primarily associated with the Art Nouveau movement. Throughout his artistic career, he divided his time between his native Italy—particularly the famous Carrara region, where he was very active in the late 19th century—and France, which often leads historians to classify him as a member of the Italo-French school. He focused his work on the representation of the human figure, with a strong emphasis on portraiture and the female form. His pieces reflect the aesthetics of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, characterized by sinuous lines, introspective poses, and an air of romanticism or mysticism.
