Léonard Gaultier - Meeting at the golden gate Description: A work by French artists influenced by - or descending from - Flemish School artists who left the low countries because of the religious troubles and settled in Paris in the later 16th century. Splendid colored and gilded engraving showing 'The Meeting at the Golden Gate; St Joachim and S. Joseph, St Maria and St Anne embracing outside the city-walls of Jerusalem. Published by 'Jean Messager (1572-1649) and engraved by Léonard Gaultier (1561-1635). A work from circa 1610-1630. Title of the series above: 'Heures de N(otre) Dame Dimensions: 13,70 x 8,80 cm Condition: Excellent condition on a full sheet with margins. Latin text in Red and black on the backside.
