Attributed to PIETRO TAGLIA (Italy, active in the 1960s). “Flame” table lamp, Italy, 1960s. Hand-blown Murano glass. A working vintage piece. Exhibits wear consistent with age and use. Measurements: 53 x 15 x 15 cm. Sculptural “Flame” table lamp, attributed to Italian designer Pietro Taglia and produced during the 1960s. Its distinctive organic silhouette, inspired by the shape of a flame, reflects the formal experimentation of mid-20th-century Italian design, where sculpture and lighting converge in a single piece. Crafted from hand-blown Murano glass, it combines a transparent glass body with a white opal glass core that diffuses light in a soft, enveloping manner. The elegant transition between the two layers of glass, together with its streamlined profile, makes the lamp both a source of ambient lighting and a striking decorative object. It is a representative piece of 1960s Italian design, ideal for interiors in the Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, or contemporary styles. Pietro Taglia is an Italian designer best known for his Mid-Century-style lighting creations, particularly his lamps crafted from Murano blown glass. Active primarily during the 1960s, his designs are characterized by organic and fluid forms, such as the well-known “Flame Lamps,” which evoke the movement of a flame. A working antique. It exhibits wear consistent with its age and use.
