Ceiling fixture; Spain, c. 1950. Gilded iron with gold leaf and cut glass. Measurements: 50 x 50 cm. A ceiling medallion with a distinctly sculptural character, designed to resemble a radiant sun. Its circular structure of gilded iron, embellished with gold leaf, unfolds into a succession of rays and curved metal leaves that frame the central cut glass, creating an attractive interplay of volumes, reflections, and textures. The piece evokes the Sunburst aesthetic, characteristic of mid-20th-century decorative design, and the taste for exuberant forms and sumptuous finishes associated with the Hollywood Regency style. Representative of postwar Spanish decorative lighting, this ceiling light combines artisanal metalwork with the visual richness of cut glass.
