Four bistro chairs; France, 1950s. Wrought iron and plaster upholstery. Measurements: 83 x 36 x 40 cm (x2). Set of four bistro-style chairs, crafted from wrought iron with a sinuous frame and a dark finish. They feature high, openwork backrests topped with a stylized heart shape, and slightly curved legs with volute finials and reinforcing crossbars. The circular, padded seats are upholstered in reddish-brown escay, with a piping trim around the edges. This set is representative of mid-20th-century French-inspired furniture, in which the ornamentation of the wrought iron combines with the simplicity of the upholstered seat. Its design evokes the aesthetic of café and bistro chairs, adapted to a decorative style with an artisanal character.
