In the style of GABRIELLA CRESPI (Italy, 1922–2017). Table lamp. Italy, circa 1970. Brass and fabric shade. Wiring replaced. In good overall condition, with a patina on the metal and signs of wear on the shade. Measurements: 86 cm total height; 50 cm shade diameter. An architecturally designed table lamp consisting of four vertical supports that curve at their upper ends, resting on a square base with small spherical feet. The golden and coppery tones of the metal are hallmarks of the design, alongside the wide, light-colored fabric shade. Its geometry and combination of materials evoke the decorative universe of Gabriella Crespi, with whom a stylistic connection is established, though without direct attribution. The integration of structure and ornamentation explains its appeal in contemporary interior design, where it can serve as a sculptural focal point. Gabriella Crespi was a designer and artist known for her furniture, lamps, and decorative objects that combine functionality and a sculptural quality. Trained in architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, she developed a design language of geometric shapes and curves, using materials such as brass, bronze, and bamboo. Notable among her creations are the transformable furniture pieces from the Plurimi series and the Fungo lamps. Her work holds a prominent place in Italian design of the 1960s and 1970s for integrating craftsmanship, formal experimentation, and practical solutions.
