Floor lamp. Spain, 1970s. Patinated steel and lacquered metal. It shows signs of use and a patina on the metal surfaces consistent with its age. It retains its original electrical wiring. Measurements: 181 cm high × 48 cm in diameter. A Brutalist-style floor lamp, conceived as a sculptural composition of three lights at different heights. Three slender black shafts rise from an open base of angular plates, topped by cylindrical shades made of patinated steel in bronze and copper tones. Circular punctures of varying diameters lighten the volumes and cast patterns of light and shadow. Each light has an independent switch operated by a pull chain, allowing the lighting to be adapted to the environment. Of Spanish origin and by an unidentified designer and manufacturer, its design is part of the formal experimentation of the 1970s. The hallmarks of slenderness in the supports and the presence of the shades, combined with the expressive treatment of the metal, give it an architectural character that retains its appeal in contemporary interiors.
