VALENTÍ. Floor lamp. Spain, 1960s. Steel and brown leather. Slight wear on the leather of the base. Measurements: 148 × 50 × 20 cm. A floor lamp with a slender silhouette, featuring a steel shaft partially covered in leather and a curved arm supporting a truncated cone-shaped shade. The conical base echoes the shade’s profile, lending balance to the overall design. The brown leather, featuring exposed stitching, covers both elements and part of the base, with the glossy finish of steel serving as a hallmark. This combination of materials and the meticulous craftsmanship of the upholstery are hallmarks of Valentí’s lighting fixtures, in which the functional structure is enriched with artisanal details. The Barcelona-based firm ValentÍ traces its origins to a family-run goldsmith’s workshop founded in 1798 and later expanded its activities to include furniture, lighting, and decorative objects. This lamp reflects that tradition of attention to materials and finishes.
