This large-scale table lamp is a unique example of 1970s lighting design, linked to the Space Age aesthetic and experimentation with organic forms and highly expressive materials. It stands out particularly for its sculptural Murano glass base, whose sinuous silhouette rises from a flared lower section to a slender neck. The white glass, crisscrossed by dark veins of irregular patterns, creates a dynamic visual effect that accentuates the fluidity of its forms. The composition is completed by a wide cylindrical shade, whose geometric volume contrasts with the organic character of the base. The piece is part of the Futurist trends that transformed domestic design during the 1960s and 1970s, when lighting took on a distinctly sculptural role. During this period, the Barcelona-based firm Lumica developed a line of decorative light fixtures characterized by the combination of materials and the pursuit of formal solutions with great visual impact. In this piece, the treatment of the glass and its generous proportions reinforce its presence as a central element of interior design.
