Set of three armchairs. Italy, 1960s. Black-painted metal frame, backrest and sides made of beech slats, and seat made of crisscrossed straps. Provenance: an architecture firm in Rome. Measurements: 67 x 72 x 61 cm. Seat height: 36 cm. Set of three armchairs with an architectural design, featuring a tubular frame with a continuous profile and cantilevered supports. The horizontal beech slats encircle the backrest and sides, forming an enveloping structure that has hallmarks of lightness compared to the webbing seat. Their open geometry and the combination of wood and metal link them to the rationalist style. In these armchairs, the connection to rationalism is evident in the visible metal frame, the orderly arrangement of the slats, and the webbing seat: each element serves a specific function and, at the same time, defines its appearance.
