Art Deco table lamp. France, ca. 1930. Dark wood and chrome-plated metal. Ecru-colored fabric shade. Switch built into the base. In good condition. Measurements: 60 cm high x 46.5 cm in diameter. This table lamp stands out for the elegance of its geometric composition, characteristic of Art Deco design. It features a slender, dark wooden shaft—slightly tapered and decorated with subtle ring-shaped moldings—that rests on a hexagonal chrome-plated metal base. The ensemble is completed by a wide fabric shade with a truncated cone shape, which balances the verticality of the base and provides warm, diffused lighting. The contrast between materials and the understated ornamentation are hallmarks of the aesthetic of French decorative arts from the interwar period, characterized by refined forms and the pursuit of modern elegance.
