Pair of rationalist nightstands. Switzerland, 1970s. Rio rosewood. Very well crafted. In very good condition. Measurements: 44 x 63 x 42 cm. The pair of nightstands now up for auction embodies the principles of rationalism through a refined geometric composition, structural clarity, and the integration of functional elements. Their horizontal proportions, smooth fronts, and the absence of protruding handles reinforce a design philosophy centered on order and utility. The ornamentation is left to the natural grain of the Rio rosewood, which adds visual richness and warmth to an otherwise very understated design. The recessed base completes this quest for balance, lightening the overall presence of the set. It forms a set with lot 40052259.
