Peder Mørk Mønsted Portrait of Kirsten Sommer Oil on canvas. 32 x 25.2 cm. Inscribed lower right: To Fritz Sommer, with kind regards from P. Monsted, 11-12-1926. Provenance Private collection, Germany. A note on the back of the stretcher frame reading “Kirsten Sommer 2/2.1911 – 21/2.1987” indicates that the subject of the portrait was 15 years old at that time. Unfortunately, however, it is not possible to say with certainty who the young woman was – Fritz Sommer was Mønsted’s father-in-law.
