Flämischer Meister der 2. Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts Flemish School 17th Century Large still life with flowers and fruits Oil on canvas (relined). 94 x 161 cm. Signed and dated lower left: Adriaen v. Utrecht fecit 1651. Certificate Wladimir von Rakint, Berlin, 14.10.1942. Provenance From the estate of a collector in southern Germany. A green cloth is carefully draped over a stone tabletop, on which a porcelain bowl, a vase and a basket are arranged, each lavishly filled with fruit and flowers. Depicted are grapes, oranges, figs, peaches, lemons and a sliced melon. The bouquet is composed of flowers from various seasons: roses, tulips, chrysanthemums, anemones and cornflowers. Fred G. Meijer considers this painting to be a work of the Flemish School from the second half of the 17th century, and regards the signature 'Adriaen v. Utrecht' as undoubtedly apocryphal (written communication, 26 September 2026, on the basis of a digital photograph).
