Giuliana Gramigna Electra Table lamp Opaline and metal Edition Artémide Creation date: 1968 H40 D55 cm The Electra lamp is a founding piece of Milanese lighting design in the 1960s: its large, luminous, soft opaline globe (Ø55 cm), set on a slender metal base, evokes both the formal purity of Art Nouveau and the Space Age modernity of the 1960s. Produced by Artémide - a Milanese company founded in 1959 and now a global benchmark in designer lighting - this lamp benefits from a first-rate publisher, a guarantee of quality craftsmanship. Artémide luminaires from the 1960s are actively collected on international markets. A luminous, sculptural and timeless piece. Giuliana Gramigna (1929-2019) A pioneering figure in Italian design, Giuliana Gramigna was one of the first women to make her mark on Milanese design in the 1960s. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, she collaborated with some of the most important publishers of her time - Artémide, Quattrifolio - and at the same time worked as a design critic and historian, author of the reference work Repertorio del design italiano 1950-1980. Her work is an essential chapter in the history of Milanese design.
