Set of three “51” and “21” fountain pens, PARKER Two “51” pens, in burgundy and black, and one “21” pen in black. Acrylic resin, synthetic material, and stainless steel. They show signs of use and wear. The burgundy pen’s cap is missing its clip and has damage to the top cap. Measurements: 13.5 cm in length. Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. The set brings together two of the lines that defined Parker’s production during the middle decades of the 20th century. The Parker 51, marketed since the early 1940s, introduced the characteristic streamlined nib and an aerodynamic silhouette that became one of the brand’s hallmarks; the Aerometric models were available in black and burgundy, among other colors, and featured “Lustraloy” steel caps. The Parker 21, produced between 1948 and 1965, brought this aesthetic to a more affordable line and is recognized here by its steel cap with a simple trough-style clip.
