A pair of “Arrow Flighter CT” and “180 Flighter CT” fountain pens, PARKER. ca. 1977–1987. Brushed stainless steel, chrome-plated metal, and black synthetic material. In good condition, with slight signs of use. Measurements: 13.5 cm Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. This pair brings together two characteristic Parker designs from the late 1970s and the 1980s, both featuring the “Flighter” finish—a designation used by the company for its stainless steel models. The Parker 180 stands out for its particularly slender profile and its unique nib, originally developed to allow writing on both sides with different stroke widths. The later Arrow adopted a more geometric design language, recognizable by its faceted clip and the nib semi-integrated into the black section—features that foreshadowed Parker’s aesthetic throughout the 1980s.
