PARKER. Model 180 fountain pen. Circa 1980. Dark brown barrel with geometric decoration and gold-plated accents. Reversible nib. It shows slight signs of wear consistent with its age. Measurements: 14 cm in length. Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. Fountain pen from the prestigious American brand Parker, specifically the Model 180, introduced in 1977 and renowned for its innovative writing system and elegant, streamlined design. Its main feature is the unique, narrow, elongated nib, designed to allow for two line widths with a 180-degree twist—a characteristic from which the model derives its name. This technical innovation made the Parker 180 one of the brand’s most distinctive offerings during the final decades of the 20th century.
