LOLA PONS TACHER (Barcelona, 1929). Untitled. Bronze, edition 1/9. Signed and numbered. Measurements: 27 x 18 x 13 cm; 29 x 18 x 13 cm (with base). Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. Lola Pons was a student of Víctor Moya Calvo and began her artistic career as a ceramicist before moving on to sculpture. Since 1977, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions and made her debut in Palamós in 1978. She has held major solo exhibitions at the Kreisler Gallery (Barcelona), the Sofitel (Paris), and Alcolea (Madrid), among many others. In 1982, she won the Kreisler Gallery Sculpture Prize and the gold medal at the Salon d’Automne in Marseille; in 1983, the Grand Prize at the First International Salon of Aix-en-Provence and the Côte d’Azur International Grand Prize in Cannes; and in 1989, the Villa de Palamós International Prize. In her works, she captures the sensitive side of humanity; her pieces create living spaces that transcend form, and she draws warmth from stone and bronze. Her work is featured in the Santander Municipal Museum.
