Designer table lamp, 1960s–1970s. White-lacquered metal and chrome-plated metal. Two light sources and a switch on the base. Shows some signs of wear. Plug is broken. Measurements: 40 x 33 x 33 cm. Provenance: Estate of Ramon Martí Alsina and Ricard Martí Aguiló. Artistic and heritage collection originating in the legacy of Catalan painters Ramon Martí Alsina (1826–1894), a seminal figure of 19th-century Catalan Realism, and his son Ricard Martí Aguiló (1857–1935). Passed down and enriched across successive generations, the collection brings together works from the original holdings of both artists alongside acquisitions made by their descendants. Dedicated to preserving and recovering the family legacy, the descendants actively reacquired works by the painters as they entered the market, progressively expanding the collection to encompass paintings, sculptures, archaeological artifacts, and other items of artistic and historical significance. European-designed table lamp from the 1960s–1970s, featuring clean lines and a geometric composition. It features a wide, circular shade with a domed profile, lacquered in white, supported by a slender, truncated-cone-shaped chrome-plated metal stem that rests on a matching circular base. Two light sources are arranged facing each other beneath the shade, while the switch is located on the base. The combination of lacquered and chrome-plated metal, as well as the simplicity of its forms, reflects the trends in mid-20th-century European lighting design, characterized by functionality, formal refinement, and a reduction in ornamental elements.
