A BURMESE SILVER BOWL, RANGOON OR MANDALAY, CIRCA 1900 of 'Thabeik' form, richly chased with a frieze of scenes from Burmese legends including royal figures and kinnaris below foliate arcading and a corded border and above a stylised leaf border, the underside flat-chased with a peacock on a matted ground roundel with punched scroll border, 20cm diameter, 813g Wynyard Wilkinson states ‘There are a number of variations of 'peacock' signatures, probably referring to different makers, all of whom are indirectly claiming past royal patronage.
