Engraving of Dr Matthew Baillie by J Thompson 1826. This stipple engraving portrait of the Scottish physician and pathologist Matthew Baillie (1761–1823) was engraved by J. Thomson after an original painting by John Hoppner. Dr. Matthew Baillie was a pioneer in pathological anatomy and nephew of the famous anatomists William and John Hunter.
