Hyacinthe Rigaud - Jean-Baptiste de Silva engraved by Bernigeroth 1740. This engraved portrait of the French physician and private doctor of King Louis XV, Jean-Baptiste de Silva (1682-1742) , adapted from a 1740 work by Hyacinthe Rigaud. The engraving was made in 1740 by Johann Martin Bernigeroth. The portrait depicts Silva wearing a wig and clothing in keeping with the fashion of the period.
