Obverse: “ST LOUIS ROI DE FRANCE.” Crowned bust of Saint Louis facing right, draped in an ermine cloak. Signed: GAYRARD / DE PUYMAURIN D. Reverse: “ORDO MILITARIS S. LUDOVICI A LUDOVICO MAGNO INSTITUTUS M·DC·XCIII·,” with the exergue: “LEVEQUE.” Cross of the Order of Saint Louis with fleurs-de-lis between the arms; in the center, an oval medallion depicting Saint Louis in armor and a royal cloak, holding a laurel wreath and the crown of thorns, surrounded by the motto BELLICAE VIRTUTIS PRAEMIUM.
