GUILLOCHÉ ENAMEL PAPER KNIFE WITH GUILLOCHÉ SILVER HANDLE. GERMANY, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. An elegant desk paper knife produced in Germany in the early 20th century, designed in the spirit of Late Historicism with Neoclassical influences. Combining refined craftsmanship with practical function, the piece features a long polished steel blade and a light-coloured bone handle mounted with a finely guilloché-decorated sterling silver sleeve. The engine-turned ornament creates a subtle play of light across the silver surface, enhancing the object`s understated sophistication. Its restrained proportions and balanced decorative treatment reflect the aesthetic ideals of the period, when writing implements formed an essential part of distinguished office interiors.
