ÉMILE GALLÉ (1846–1904) A polychrome glazed earthenware mantelpiece set known as “Aux lions héraldiques,” comprising a pair of candelabra featuring rearing lions holding a tower-shaped candleholder and a clock with an inscribed cartouche between two roaring lions; a domed base decorated on the front and back with a cartouche featuring a red chalk landscape design, resting on curved feet with volutes. Each piece of the set is signed “Gallé Nancy déposé.” (Some chips in the enamel) Candelabra: Height 42 cm - Length 26 cm; Mantel clock: Height 50 cm - Length 43 cm A polychrome enameled earthenware mantel set, “Aux lions héraldiques,” comprising a pair of candelabra and a mantel clock.
