8590 - The fan ribs are made of bone, finely carved with openwork and decorated with acanthus scrolls and rocaille motifs; in the center is an engraved cartouche featuring crossed shawms and a music book, painted in gold and copper tones; the fan panel is made of fine tulle with colored gouache painting, featuring three cartouches (putti or a Rococo figurative scene), the fan shaft features a gilded bull’s head with a blue gemstone set in a decorative rosette; shows signs of age; the fan is elaborately framed in a grooved, copper-colored wooden frame; fan measures approx. 33 x 19 cm, frame approx. 49 x 35 cm, c. 1850/60, the framing is of unknown origin.
