Manara MILO MANARA GIUSEPPE BERGMAN Manara, Maestro dell'Eros No. 13, The Metropolitan Adventures of Giuseppe Bergman, Panini Comics 2014 Original cover. Signed. Watercolor and India ink on paper 56 × 77 cm (22.05 × 30.31 in.) A beautiful composition for the cover of this book, which features Volume 4 of Giuseppe Bergman, *Revoir les étoiles*. It is part of a collection titled “The Masters of Eroticism.” Indeed, Manara belongs to this category: for him, eroticism takes on a sacred dimension. “In comics, it’s fine with me,” he says, “as long as it’s handled with great respect. Using eroticism to sell something—linking an object or a person to a woman’s seductive appeal just to sell it—is practically prostitution! ” Manara’s women, incidentally, all share a certain resemblance; they are rarely vulgar because they are idealized. They exist only through the magic of his pencil.
