Hergé HERGÉ TINTIN Tintin Blue Lotus Vase Sol 3 Éditions, 1980. Polychrome plaster in 6 parts. Edition of 4 copies, signed by Jean-Marie Pigeon on the base of the vase Height: 122 cm (48.03 in.) Width: 68 cm (26.77 in.) Depth: 68 cm (26.77 in.) Weight: 77 kg (169.75 lbs.). *The Blue Lotus* is the quintessential Tintin comic book. It is the one that most fascinates fans of the character created by Hergé. And the cover of this album, depicting Tintin and Snowy hiding inside a vase, has become the most iconic image of the series—which is no less legendary itself. This life-size representation is a true work of art sculpted by Jean-Marie Pigeon. There are two versions: the first in plaster (4 copies) and the second in resin (6 copies produced out of the 24 planned). The main difference is that the first version is much heavier and was entirely created by Jean-Marie Pigeon (casting, production, and painting).
