India ink and watercolor on paper 76 × 56.5 cm (29.92 × 22.24 in.) The current illustrator of Asterix had a creative career before seasoning the wild boar the Gallic way. He got his start in Brussels with writer Yann in the attic of the Journal de Spirou editorial office (true story!), he made his mark in the top panels of the Marcinelle-based weekly before creating, based on a script by Yann, the series that first brought him to prominence: *Les Innommables*, where we meet Alix Yin Fu—alias White Tiger—the future heroine of a spin-off series featured here. The artwork is brimming with detail; you can tell the artist is having fun: the setting, the rigging, the ropes, the junk in the distance, the costume, and then the young woman’s graceful silhouette… We’re right in the thick of the adventure!
