Lafebre JORDI LAFEBRE Malgré tout, Dargaud 2020 Original illustration created in 2021. Signed. Acrylic and India ink on paper 42 × 35 cm (16.54 × 13.78 in.) My graphic novel *Malgré tout* is a romantic comedy in which the two main characters, Ana and Zeno, have shared a platonic yet strong bond for many years, despite the challenges they’ve faced. When I draw them together, I like the atmosphere to be realistic yet a little magical. I work extensively on the details to give the scene a fabulous, otherworldly aura. When working with acrylics, I always strive for transparency in my colors and a genuine luminosity. In this scene of the snow-covered lake, I wanted to convey a cold atmosphere while capturing warmth in the light. I painted the image as if it were a dance, where the natural elements are harmoniously intertwined. A beautiful winter afternoon. Jordi Lafebre
