Bonhomme MATTHIEU BONHOMME LUCKY LUKE (AS SEEN BY...) Lucky Luke’s Long March, Lucky Comics Original illustration created in 2026 for a digigraph. Signed. Gouache and colored inks on paper 65.8 × 46 cm (25.91 × 18.11 in.) An illustration in which Lucky Luke asserts his superiority, indifferent to the threat posed by the Daltons. He looks down on us as if to show that he is in control of the situation, while three of the four brothers, looking more tense, prepare to fire. Once again, Matthieu Bonhomme chooses light, muted, almost soft hues, as if to confirm that our hero has nothing to fear. We once again see the curves and the softness of line that characterize the artist’s work on this series. “I enjoyed working with the light coming from behind the trees to create a backlight effect on the forest and cast blue shadows on the ground. I like the contrast in color temperatures between the blue of the snow and the warm tones of the leather and scarves.” M.B.
