Bonhomme MATTHIEU BONHOMME LUCKY LUKE (AS SEEN BY...) Lucky Luke’s Long March, Bulle au Mans 2026 Original panel from a four-page story. Signed. India ink on paper 35 × 50.2 cm (13.78 × 19.76 in.) This panel is taken from a four-page supplement created for a special edition published by the Bulle bookstore. In three panels, the story is told. A reverse tracking shot accompanies the Daltons’ escape. A large Cinemascope-style panel confirms their escape. Our victorious hero can then resume his ride in a magnificent circular panel. This succession of widening rectangles—in contrast to the medallion-style panel at the conclusion—gives the page remarkable dynamism. “This is a moment when Lucky Luke isn’t quite sure what to do between two comic books. Fortunately, he stumbles upon the prison van from which the Daltons have just escaped, which gives him a reason to set off on a new adventure. As a side note, in the published version, the order of the first three panels was reversed.” M.B.
