Bonhomme MATTHIEU BONHOMME LUCKY LUKE (AS SEEN BY...) Lucky Luke’s Long March, Lucky Comics Original illustration created for the Quai des Bulles festival in 2026. Signed. Gouache and colored inks on paper 52.3 × 40.5 cm (20.59 × 15.94 in.) A magnificent blizzard scene whose simplicity is matched only by its beauty and impact. A hint of sunlight, both subtle and present, in the upper left corner. Snow falling in flakes. The palpable cold... Despite a blue background with a soft appearance, one can almost physically feel the hero’s struggle to move through this hostile environment. “I tried something new for me. First, I inked the entire drawing in black. Then I added blue on top of it. On that base, I then diluted some gouache and let it run down the rocks to give them that sense of distance. I wasn’t too sure about it before I did it, but I think it turned out well.” M.B.
