6726 - A total of 60 cut-out figures made of heavy paper, painted in gouache, for creating an elaborate Nativity scene, including 23 figures (such as Mary, Joseph, the Three Wise Men with their entourage, shepherds, merchants, hunters, a soldier, and a maid), plus 22 animals (mostly sheep, plus a deer, a goat, a hare, and a white stork), as well as 15 trees, each with a wooden splint on the back for inserting into a bed of moss; the wooden frame, covered with moss and bark, was added later (approx. 31 x 102 x 49 cm), figure height up to approx. 21 cm, signs of age; likely from Northern Bohemia/Jeschken-Isergebirge, predominantly from the Biedermeier period in the mid-19th century, with some figures dating from later periods
