Neo-Renaissance-style brooch set with an oval enamel miniature portrait of Queen Marie de’ Medici (1575–1642) Made of chiseled gilded metal with a floral motif inlaid with cut garnets; mother-of-pearl plate on the back; fastened with a spring pin. Minor chip in the enamel. Napoleon III period. H. 4 x W. 3.3 cm (visible dimensions). H. 6 x W. 5.5 cm (including frame). Provenance - Martial Lapeyre Collection (1904–1984). - Fondation Napoléon (Paris) following the bequest by Martial Lapeyre in 1984.
