CHARLES LE ROY IN PARIS 18k gold (750 parts per thousand) pocket watch White enamel dial, black dot minute markers, black-painted Roman numeral hour markers, silver-tone hands set with small white stones. Bezel set with white stones; the lug engraved with the number 6782; the case back features a polychrome decoration of two romantic figures taking an oath on the altar of love, set against an azure blue enamel background, with the surrounding border set with white stones. Mechanical movement with manual winding via a key, conical pillars, balance cock re-drilled with two screws, rosette for adjusting the rate, fusee and chain system, verge escapement, inscription “CHARLES LE ROY PARIS 6782 .” The watch was non-functional at the time of appraisal; there is no guarantee of future functionality or the condition of the parts. Scratches on the case and glass, a few scratches on the painted decoration, a few missing rhinestones on the hands, and a slight mark on the dial at six o’clock. Late 18th century. Diameter: 4.8 cm.
