Proclamation issued in Lectoure (Gers) on May 19, 1665. “By order of the King (Louis XIV), François de LUCAS, Counselor to the King (Louis XIV), Lieutenant General for Criminal Matters in the Seneschalsy, Presidential Seat of ARMAGNAC, City of LECTOURE, Subdelegated Commissioner for the regions of Armagnac, Astarac, Lomagne, Rivière-Verdun, and Comminges, by Maître Claude BAZIN, Knight and Lord of Bezons (sic Besoms), Counselor to the King, Intendant of the Province of Languedoc, to the aforementioned First Sergeant: We hereby order you, at the request of Sir François DUFOUR, General Farmer of His Majesty’s Domains, within the jurisdictions falling under the jurisdiction of the Parliament of TOULOUSE, and the Chamber of Accounts of Navarre, in Pau, that the rights of lods and sales due to His Majesty, together with all usurpations that have been committed against the said domain, and the restitution thereof… All purchasers of lands and seigneuries within the jurisdiction of the Parliament of TOULOUSE are hereby ordered to settle the seigneurial dues… ” Vignette and initial.
