Parchment (28 x 29.5 cm) granted to RIOM by the said Court on March 6, 1614: “Just Louis de TOURNON, Knight and Lord of the said place, Aslanc, Murs, and Vissac, Count of ROUSSILLON (1538–1617) Advisor to the King in his Council of State and Privy Council, Captain of fifty men-at-arms under his command, and his Seneschal of AUVERGNE, to Sir Jacob CHANAL, Royal Notary. Greetings, from the Noble François LE COURT, Lord of MONDORY, Counselor to the King and President of the Elected Representatives in the Lower Auvergne Election in CLERMONT. It has been brought to our attention that, by virtue of his title or his estate, he is owed various rents, annuities, rights, and seigneurial dues in the villages of BROC (63) and PERIERS and their appurtenances by various holders, who are in default of paying the rents and dues to him; and to acknowledge that, since the land registers are ancient and that… for the continuation of his rights, it is necessary for the said petitioners to have his land registers renewed… We hereby order that, at the request of the said petitioner, you shall receive all declarations and acknowledgments given to you by the emphyteutic lessees and tenants of the estates subject to the censive and direct tenancy of the said Lecourt. To this end, we hereby grant power of attorney. We order the first royal sergeant, as required… to issue and serve all the summonses that may be necessary. Given at RIOM on March 6, 1614.
