Evening Gathering, France, c. 1890 Large folded fan, with a leather panel, mounted in the English style, and painted in the 18th-century style. An elegant gathering has assembled in the salons, while a couple has stepped aside to banter. Signed lower right “J. Vouzelle.” The reverse is blank. Goldfish mother-of-pearl frame, re-pierced, engraved, silvered, and gilded. Metal ring. (Small spots, wear, restorations.)
