Abigael Offering Food, Europe, circa 1750–1760 Folded fan; the leather panel, lined with paper and painted in gouache, depicts Abigael kneeling before David and offering him food. The reverse side is painted with a soldier in the company of young women. White mother-of-pearl frame, cut, re-drilled, engraved, and gilded with a decorative scene of figures.
