This hand-coloured lithograph is by F Willy and is from Charles Lucien Bonaparte’s Iconographie des pigeons … Published in Paris and printed by Lemercier 1857. Considered among the finest books ever published on the subject of pigeons, this work was intended to form a supplement to Mme. Knip's 'Les Pigeons' but ranks as a completely separate work. The pigeons featured on this lithograph are the Cinereous Dove (Peristera Cinerea) and the Purple Winged Ground Dove (Peristera Geoffroyi). Size: 21.75in x 13.75in (55cm x 35cm) The print is in very good condition - please inspect images.
