HL Meyer - Chromolithograph of Common Gull 1857. This engraving is by Henry Leonard Meyer from Illustrations of British Birds and Their Eggs, published by Willis and Sotheran, London 1857. Meyer specialised in ornithological subjects and was assisted by his children with the hand colouring of the engravings. The hand colouring in these plates is exquisite. The delicate features of each bird has been painstakingly rendered with pristine accuracy. Size: approx 7.5in x 9.5in ((19cm x 24cm) The print is in excellent condition - please inspect the image carefully for occasional spotting
