LEGO Classic Vintage Parts & Packaging Lot 1957–1962 Dating from 1957 to 1962, these three small boxes showcase LEGO’s early approach to expanding a collection: purchasing specific building elements separately. Roof slopes, plates, and basic bricks were presented as useful additions to an existing set, leaving the finished creation to the builder’s imagination. More than sixty years later, the remarkably well-preserved original boxes are the highlight. Their compact size and period graphics illustrate how LEGO was sold before its familiar themed sets were introduced. Two packs still contain all their original pieces, while the empty 520 box is a collectible piece of packaging in its own right—an appealing set for enthusiasts of early LEGO history. Included items: 283 Sloping Ridge and Valley Bricks, Red (1957)—20 pieces (6.2 x 8.6 x 3.1 cm), 520 2 × 2 Plates, cardboard box version (1962)—empty box only; originally contained 42 pieces (6.4 x 8.9 x 3.5 cm), 218 2 × 4 Bricks (1958) — 13 pieces, plus 1 extra brick (6.2 x 8.6 x 3.1 cm).All opened and used. Sets 283 and 218 are complete; set 520 is empty. Original boxes are exceptionally well preserved. Price tag on set 283.
