EXCEPTIONAL AND IMPORTANT CARPET AT THE SOAP FACTORY POINT Wool velvet on cotton backing. Pale pink field decorated with finely drawn garlands of flower and foliage strings, adorned with two pale celadon-green entangled medallions inlaid with an old gold crenellated medallion with twists of polychrome floral buds in the shape of a mirror, and a frame inlaid with a ruby crown with a multicolored floral bouquet. Four spandrels decorated with polychrome sprays of flowers and foliage echo the central medallion. Beautifully balanced frame with reserves of multicolored floral bouquets and stylized scrolls.
