171 - A beautiful ceremonial sword for a civil servant, featuring a slender, straight, four-sided blade free of markings or signatures, and a beautiful chiseled gilded bronze hilt, a pommel with a prominent stud, a single guard branch flaring at its center (two palmettes in relief surrounding a beaded ring), a crossguard featuring a bunch of grapes curving forward, a symmetrical, openwork guard plate decorated with garlands and volutes; a wooden tang adorned with two curved mother-of-pearl plates; the sides are embellished with a gilded bronze band featuring a floral design connecting the pommel to the crossguard. In its black leather scabbard, with a buttoned cap and a butt plate featuring matching decoration.
