PIERRE BALMAIN - Haute couture - Circa 1978 - Cocktail dress. In fuchsia-pink silk crepe. Strapless shape with an applied band of pleated organza in blue, green and purple stripes around the bust. The sheath cut is pleated at the waist and widely slit at the front. The crepe is self-lined at the bottom to opacify. Back zipper closure with two hook-and-loop tabs on the organza and a snap-fastening flap to fold over the zipper. The placket is embellished with covered buttons for a "bridge" effect in the lower back. A bandeau belt with hook closure covers the waist. Pink crepe bustier lining with stays and small white grosgrain waistband covered in the same fabric. The label is sewn on the side: Pierre Balmain Paris. Bolduc 164997 -Dimensions: Chest (armpit to armpit): 39 cm Waist flat: 32 cm Height to middle of back: 118 cm Minor wear. A heel tear has cut two thin strips on the two rows of crepe on the front bottom (no material missing). A few small stains, including small dots on the front of the bustier and a small pencil mark.
